Calculate the fee, then split it

Example: a $1,000 trade with a 0.30% swap fee creates $3 in fees before they are split.

  • 1At the documented 95% LP share, all eligible LPs together receive $2.85.
  • 2The protocol’s 5% share is $0.15.
  • 3Your own position gets only its eligible part of the LP amount.
  • 4On Robinhood since October 14, 2026, that protocol portion goes to BuybackModule.
Follow one $1,000 trade.
Trade amount$1,000
× 0.30% swap fee
Swap fee pot$3.00
95% · LPs$2.85
5% · protocol$0.15Robinhood: funds RAM buybacks
Illustrative 0.30% fee and the Ramses fee-only default. These amounts are shared by all eligible LPs.
First find the total fee. Then apply the pool split and your position’s share.

01
LPs · 95%Protocol · 5%Fee-only default

Split the fee in steps

Trade volume creates swap fees. Pool settings divide them. Your eligible liquidity determines your part. Each percentage must say what amount it applies to.

02
Your price range

Trading inside the range creates fees

Your eligible fees depend on trading volume at prices where your liquidity was active.

03
Token value+Income− costs = final value

Add up four amounts

Track your token value, swap fees, separate emission rewards, and costs to find the total result.

Robinhood protocol revenue buys RAM

Since October 14, 2026, 100% of protocol revenue on Robinhood Chain is routed to BuybackModule; the Sarcophagus is closed there. Accumulated revenue funds taker-side market purchases of liquid RAM, which is sent to the dead address. This redirects protocol revenue, not all swap fees. The documented fee-only default remains 95% LPs / 5% protocol; the gauged default remains 100% of swap fees to voters, with configurable exceptions.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Your share of the fee pot

Suppose eligible LPs share $100 in retained fees. If your position earns 1% of that pot, your fees are $1.

What this means

If that earned share is 0.5% instead, your fees are $0.50. Your deposit divided by total pool TVL does not necessarily give this share.

Key idea: Time inside a range is not the same as the share of trading volume inside it.

Advanced Risk Check
  • Check live fee settings, reward eligibility, gauge status, and any reward-protection rules. A gauge label alone does not establish the current split.
  • The 95% versus 80% comparison assumes equal gross fees; it does not verify a competitor’s pool or establish higher LP profit.
  • Fees and token rewards do not guarantee a profit. Count changes in token value and gas, swaps, entry, exit, and range-management costs.
  • Keep each amount separate so rewards are not counted twice. Lab outputs depend on your inputs and do not predict returns.
  • The 100% revenue routing applies to the protocol portion on Robinhood. It does not change the documented 95% LP retention default.
Full explanation & example

Think in successive allocations: trade volume creates gross swap fees; pool settings allocate those fees; eligible liquidity determines the position's part. Every percentage needs a named base. The 95% fee-only figure is applied to gross swap fees, not to the deposit.

For a range position, only relevant trading volume contributes to fees. Spending half the month inside the range does not mean half the volume traded there. A quiet week inside and a busy week outside can give very different results from the reverse.

The lab deliberately asks for active liquidity share and the fraction of volume in range. Neither can be recovered from total pool TVL or the ending price. Changing the range without reconsidering those assumptions does not create a verified forecast.

Retained swap fees are one ledger. Emission tokens need a separate quantity and valuation ledger. Principal needs its own price and inventory comparison. Only after those are clear should entry, exit and management costs be deducted.

From $3 million volume to $5.13

Illustrative inputs: $100,000 daily volume for 30 days, a 0.30% swap fee, 95% LP retention, 0.10% active share and 60% of volume in range. Gross fees are $9,000; $8,550 is retained by LPs collectively under the assumed split.

$8,550 × 0.001 × 0.60 = $5.13 for the position. At unchanged price and $3 of modeled costs, the net change is $2.13. Emissions are excluded.

Common mix-ups

“My $1,000 deposit divided by TVL gives my fee share.”

In CL, competing active liquidity at the traded prices determines fee participation. Total TVL includes inactive ranges.

“If price ends inside my range, the position earned fees all month.”

The endpoint does not reveal the price path or how much trading occurred inside the range.

“100% protocol revenue means 100% of LP swap fees.”

With an illustrative $10 fee under the 95/5 default, LPs still share $9.50. Only the protocol’s $0.50 is in the revenue stream redirected on Robinhood.

Discussion question

A fee-only position retains 95% and another assumed position retains 80%. Is the first guaranteed to earn more?

Show the answer

Only an equal-gross-fee comparison isolates retention. In that controlled example, 95 ÷ 80 − 1 = 18.75% more retained fees. Different volume, fee levels, active exposure or costs can reverse the practical outcome.
